Allaqa was an Arab sailor who led a revolt against the rule of the Fatimid Caliphate between 997 and 998. This rebellion took place in the city of Tyre, which is in modern-day Lebanon. Allaqa, originally a simple sailor, led the Tyrian population in revolt due to dissatisfaction with Fatimid rule, which was marked by neglect and unpopular policies.
