Alice Virginia Payne is a Canadian geologist. She became the first female president of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists in 1992. The University of Calgary granted her an honorary doctorate, and she also was honored by the Order of Canada. She is an important Canadian female figure in paving the way for female geologists, a field previously male-dominant.
