Rodgers Alfred Nikita Mangena, born Rodgers Alfred Mangena in the Maranda area, commanded the Zimbabwe People's Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA), the militant branch of the Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU), in the Rhodesian Bush War. Lookout Masuku led ZIPRA after Mangena's death in 1978.
