Alexander Nikolaevich Tikhonov was a Russian Empire and Soviet writer and publisher. He was the publisher of Letopis (1915–17), Novaya Zhizn (1917–18). In 1905 Tikhonov published a number of short stories, articles, and reviews. Then in 1908 he graduated from St. Petersburg Mining Institute. He was a friend if Maxim Gorky and was the editor of the fiction department of the Bolshevik newspapers Zvezda and Pravda.
