Albert Fenimore Rockwell was an American inventor, manufacturer, industrialist, and philanthropist. He was the founder of the New Departure Manufacturing Company, which later became a division of General Motors. Rockwell was also the founder of the Yellow Taxicab Company of New York, president of the American Silver Company, and owner of Marlin Firearms, which manufactured Marlin-Rockwell machine guns and automatic rifles during the First World War.
