South Korea and the countries that comprise Africa have a history of political, economic, militaristic, social, and cultural relations with one another since South Korea's establishment. The Cold War had a major influence over the development of African-South Korean relations, as countries which established firm relations with either North Korea or South Korea during this time would be perceived as supporting communist ideology and countries or capitalist ideologies and countries, respectively.
