text: Adolf Glassbrenner was a German humorist and satirist, considered part of the Young Germany Movement. Glassbrenner was born in Berlin. After working for a short time in a merchant's office, he turned to journalism, and in 1831 edited Beriner Don Quixote, a periodical which was suppressed in 1833 owing to its revolutionary tendencies.
