Until January 1, 2007 Aabybro Municipality was a municipality in the former North Jutland County, on the south coast of the North Jutlandic Island, bordering the Limfjord. The municipality covered an area of 170.88 km2, and had a total population of 11,390 (2006). Its last mayor was Ole Lykkegaard Andersen, a member of the Venstre political party. Aabybro Municipality bordered Brovst Municipality to the west, Pandrup and Brønderslev Municipality to the north and Aalborg Municipality to the east
