text: The 47th Division was an infantry division of the Imperial Japanese Army. Its call sign was the Bullet Division. The 47th Division was formed 14 May 1943 in Hirosaki, simultaneously with the 42nd, 43rd and 46th divisions. The nucleus for the division formation was the 67th independent infantry brigade and the headquarters of the 57th division. The 47th division was initially assigned to the Northern District Army.
