The 2024 Rio de Janeiro municipal election will take place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 6 October 2024. Voters will elect a mayor, vice mayor, and 51 city council members. The incumbent mayor, Eduardo Paes of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), is able to run for a second term. If the most voted candidate on the first round doesn't achieve more than 50% of the votes, a second round will happen on 27 October 2024.
