Andy Murray defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–4, 7–5, 6–4 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. It was his first Wimbledon title and second major title overall. He became the first Briton to win the title since Fred Perry in 1936, ending a 77-year drought, as well as the first British winner in singles since Virginia Wade won the women's event in 1977.
