The 1999 New England Patriots season was the franchise's 30th season in the National Football League and the 40th overall. They finished with an 8–8 record and tied for fourth place in the division. They did not qualify for the playoffs. In May, the Patriots announced their intention to pull out of a publicly financed stadium deal in Hartford, Connecticut, and instead work towards building a privately financed new stadium.
