The 7th National Games of the People's Republic of China was held from September 4 to September 15, 1993 in Beijing. Qi Yunhui started the Games, to be held every four years one year after the Olympic Games. For the opening ceremony, China's major state leaders including CCP General Secretary Jiang Zemin, Premier Li Peng, and Vice-premier Zhu Rongji were present.
